Non-Fiction Monday: Sisters & Brothers

Sisters & Brothers, written by Steve Jenkins and illustrated by Robin Page is perfect for teaching your kids about different animals, many of them very unique, and introducing them to some great family relationships and illustrations at the same time.

Each page describes facts about a different animal, ranging from African elephants to New Mexico whiptail lizards, naked mole rats to giant anteaters. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful and accompany the facts in a fun, non-repetitive manner. I love that the facts weren’t dry or written in a technical way, they flowed nicely and were informative (and fun).

Kids will love this book and adults will easily be able to use it for education and easy lessons. Sisters & Brothers would make a great addition to library or home shelves.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am always looking for new books about animals for kids. Looking forward to the surprises on your blog coming up too.
